About Us

Dhrishtivani began with a simple but urgent idea: blind youth should have the same chance to keep learning outside the classroom as anyone else. Too often, worksheets, textbooks, and notes stop at the printed page, leaving students who are blind without the resources to study when teachers or facilitators are not around. That gap limits not only access to knowledge but also independence, confidence, and opportunity. Dhrishtivani was created to close that gap. What started four to five years ago as a personal connection—coaching blind football at a local school—turned into a deeper understanding of the barriers blind students face. Building relationships with the players revealed their drive and curiosity, but also the difficulty of studying without accessible materials. Out of that realization came a solution: transform lessons, worksheets, and notes into high-quality audio, so blind students can learn anytime, anywhere. From one school project, Dhrishtivani has grown into a platform that removes barriers to education, supports facilitators with practical tools, and connects academic access to long-term pathways for skills, livelihood, and independence. Today, Dhrishtivani stands for dignity, accessibility, and possibility. By converting study materials into audio, we give students who are blind control over their own learning. By partnering with educators, we make classrooms more inclusive. And by linking education to opportunity, we open doors to brighter futures. At its heart, Dhrishtivani is about ensuring that no student’s potential is limited by the format of a page. It is about believing that every learner deserves the chance to thrive—and building the tools to make that belief real.

From the Founder

My name is Shrujan Bhupathiraju, and I am a 12th grader at Oakridge International School, pursuing the International Baccalaureate. Beyond academics, I have always carried a deep passion for sports, especially football. It was on the football field that my connection with blind youth first began, when I volunteered to coach blind football at a local school. What started as a simple act of sharing the game soon grew into something much larger: helping to establish the first-ever blind football team for our state. Through that journey, I witnessed not just athletic talent, but resilience, joy, and determination. At the same time, I came face-to-face with a harder truth: many of these same students were limited in the classroom by a lack of accessible study materials. They could excel in sport, but struggled to prepare for lessons or exams when teachers weren’t present. That gap between potential and opportunity stayed with me, and I knew I had to find a way to bridge it. Dhrishtivani is the outcome of that commitment. By converting lessons, worksheets, and notes into audio, it ensures that blind students can continue learning anytime, anywhere. For me, this work is not just about accessibility—it is about dignity, independence, and opportunity. What began with football has become a lifelong mission: to remove barriers and create pathways so every student can thrive, both in the classroom and beyond.
